R U kidding? BP Gas is doing what?

So I spent last Thursday and Saturday on lake Michigan and wow it was a great time to say the least. Friday was spent with my boys (5 of us) sailing for about 30 miles and 6 hours without a cloud in the sky. We did the guy talk thing since none of us had really seen each other for some time, that was great. Then I spent a couple hours in reflection just sitting off the starboard side with my feet getting splashed by the waves and watching the sun set over the Chicago skyline it was so relaxing and magnificent, I'll post some pictures when I get them. Friday was the Cubs game, never been to Wrigley and man it was cool. I am into sports and music so when Eddie Vedder from Pearl Jam sang the tradition 7th inning stretch "Take Me Out The Ball Game" I got the chills, even in the 90 degree heat! The rest of the night is a blur..On To Saturday, the Scene party on Lake Michigan. Hundreds of boats all tied up with girls and guys all kicking back and having a great day regardless of the clouds just spending time laughing and getting to know one another. I could go on and on but I wont. What I am getting at is BP aka British Petroleum gas just got busted doing something they definitely shouldn't have been doing, dumping waste into lake Michigan! I don't really know what to say, I feel like an asshole because I have been buying BP gas since I started to drive and now they take something so beautiful and try to trash it like it's no big deal. Well I think they were mistaken, I do have a BP credit card that will soon be canceled and I will do my best to no longer get anything from my neighborhood BP, I think you should do the same. Fuck Them, raise the price then dump the waste in my back yard! A place that for the first time in about a year or two I really had a chance to relax for more than an hour!

Read this!

And then read this! Eddie Vedder at Lollopalooza which by the way was a sick concert, I'll get into that later.

Peace and chicken grease!!!

Donate and Support my Mothers walk for Breast Cancer!

Hello friends and family – I wanted to pass this email along to let you know that my Mother is partaking in The 3 Day Breast Cancer Walk in San Diego , after her fight with lymphoma in 96’ she was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2002 and has been in remission ever since. I think she is the strongest women that I know and she will continue to walk to raise money for a cure until she can’t walk anymore and even then it will be hard to stop her. Please read below for more details of Wally Kaplan’s life and if you are interested please donate. Don’t forget to check out her art to at Wallysart.comwhich was originally inspired during her fight with cancer.

Thanks and much love

Dear family and friends,

This year marks my 4th year as a breast cancer survivor and my 11th year as a lymphoma survivor! I am feeling wonderful, enjoying life, and ready to take on a new challenge. I am one of the lucky ones! This November I’m going to do the Breast Cancer 3-Day Walk with my niece Stephi who is celebrating her 10th year as a survivor. We are fifteen or so years apart in age and I’m hoping to take advantage of all her energy to do the full 60 miles and sleep in a tent in a sleeping bag. And yes, I am sane. It’s time for me to pay back and raise money to help others get educated about this disease and to enable the women fighting breast cancer to get through all of the treatments successfully. I am dedicating this walk to my niece Stephi and to my friend, Faith Price Kash, who lost her battle with breast cancer.
I’ve started to train and am very glad that it’s summer and not the middle of winter. I am again relearning the streets of Cleveland and finding out exactly how far 5, 10, and 15 miles are from my home. We are participating in the San Diego 3-Day Walk so I will be walking far away from home, but hopefully you’ll be there in spirit to cheer me on. Who amongst us hasn’t been affected by breast cancer whether from personal experience or watching a friend or loved one cope with this lousy disease? I have pledged to raise $3,000 dollars and simply put, I am asking for your help.
85% of the net proceeds raised from the Breast Cancer 3-Day will benefit the Susan G. Koman Breast Cancer Foundation which provides support for research and community outreach. 15% of the net proceeds raised will benefit the National Philanthropic Trust Breast Cancer Fund, a special field of interest fund that will provide support for research, treatment, education and prevention.
I thank you in advance for your donations and please know that it is greatly appreciated. Your donation is, of course, tax deductible.
If you would like to donate by credit card online, you can go to www.the3day.org , click on Donate, click on San Diego Nov.9-11, enter my name, click on it to go to my web page and follow the instructions.
Thank you for your support and I’d appreciate any good words you can put in with the weatherman for good training weather!
Fondly,
Wally

Help stop Price Gouging of GAS!!!

Can you face another summer where a day trip to the lake or the beach costs you an arm and a leg? It's shaping up to be just that if we don't ask Congress to stand up to Big Oil now.
The House passed a bill last week that could make gas price gouging a federal crime, but the oil companies succeeded in weakening it at the last minute, so it's hard to enforce.
In a couple weeks, the Senate will vote on the same bill, and we need them to make it stronger. I signed a petition to urge my representatives to pass a strong gas price gouging bill. We have over 500,000 names already, but we want to get to 750,000 -- can you join me at the link below?
